Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Next Drill (“Next Drill,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a basketball coaching and training app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use Next Drill, we collect:
- Account information: your email address and authentication identifiers, via Firebase Authentication (email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in).
- Profile and training data: information you enter such as your name, age, position, skill level, team/coach details, workout logs, training plans, season and game stats, and drill favorites.
- Content you submit: support messages you send us and any feedback or reports.
- Health and fitness data (optional): if you enable HealthKit access, we read heart rate data during workouts and write completed workouts back to Apple Health, solely to power in-app training features. This data stays on your device and in your account’s workout records — we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
- Purchase information: if you subscribe to Next Drill Pro, purchase and subscription status is managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Device and usage information: basic technical data (such as platform and app version) needed to operate push notifications and keep the service reliable.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize your training plans, drills, and coaching features, including AI-generated content (Google Gemini) processed on our secure servers.
- To operate team/coach features you opt into, such as rosters, tactic boards, and shared sessions.
- To send you notifications you’ve enabled (e.g. plan reminders, team activity).
- To respond to support requests and improve app reliability and security.
- To manage your subscription and entitlements through RevenueCat and Apple.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that operate Next Drill on our behalf, each acting under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, and push notifications.
- Google Gemini API — generates personalized training content from data you provide; this runs server-side and is not used to train Google’s models.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription purchases and entitlement status.
- Algolia — powers in-app search (e.g. finding teams or players).
If you use Coach Mode or join a team, information like your name, stats, and activity may be visible to your coach or teammates as part of that feature.
Scout (Free Agents)
Scout is optional. Only if you mark yourself as a free agent do we show coaches with a Coach Pro subscription your name, photo, username, position, height, age and age group (calculated from your date of birth, which is never shown), the city and country you entered, your note, your level and your combine results. We use this to let teams find players who are looking for a team (legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for players under 16, the consent of a parent or guardian, Art. 8 GDPR).
You can withdraw at any time by turning free-agent status off in Settings, or by joining a team — your listing is then removed. Listings of players who have not opened the app for 30 days are hidden. When you accept a tryout invite, we record that you accepted and when, and show you the team’s contact details; we do not share your email address or phone number with the coach.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes your profile, training data, and associated records. You can also email us at support@nextdrill.app to request deletion.
Your Choices
- You can review and edit your profile information in-app at any time.
- You can disable HealthKit access and push notifications at any time in your device settings.
- You can request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Children’s Privacy
Next Drill is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including Firebase Authentication, encrypted data in transit, and Firestore security rules — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
